BECOME WHAT YOU HUNT.

Caius Varros is the most feared hunter in the Preylands. As a child, he watched vampires slaughter his family, shattering any hope of a peaceful life and setting him on the harsh warrior path he walks today. Now, armed with god-blessed weapons and a relentless code of honour, he is dedicated to defending humankind... and the vengeance he hungers for.

Then on a routine rescue mission beyond the border, Caius is ambushed by Aurelia, the cunning and disarmingly beautiful heir to one of the three vampire Emperors. She offers him an unthinkable bargain: she'll spare his captured squire if Caius agrees to help her assassinate the Emperors – her own mother included – and seize the vampire throne. In return, Aurelia promises a ceasefire in the endless blood wars between their kinds.

But for her plan to work, he must be turned. And to reach the heart of Aurelia's ruthless city, he must become her consort.

To save his squire, Caius agrees. Yet beneath her offer, he can't help but see this bargain puts him exactly where he always dreamed of being: perfectly placed to destroy the vampire empire from the inside.

Even if it costs him his soul.

A gripping debut epic fantasy about a paladin consumed by revenge amid a brutal war between humans and vampires.

_{*A 'proof copy'? It's basically an early version of the book, produced before publication and shared with the media, reviewers, booksellers and librarians. It might have a typo or two, or look a little different from the finished book – but you'll get to read it months before it's available to buy!}
