Tax-free gift cards for Irish employees
Under Ireland’s Small Benefit Exemption, employers can reward employees with up to €1,500 per year in non-cash benefits – free from tax, PRSI and USC.

Per employee, free from tax, PRSI and USC – increased from €1,000 on 1 January 2025.

Per employee, per tax year, provided the combined value doesn’t exceed €1,500.

Any non-cash benefit qualifies under the exemption – including gift cards, hampers, homeware and gadgets, or tickets for events and experiences. Cash and cash-equivalents paid through payroll do not qualify.
